“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13
Trust is the single most important trait determining whether a relationship is healthy or dysfunctional. Trust lost is rarely totally regained. There is always a lingering memory reminding our hearts of the betrayal.
Because of who I am, I cannot – will not lie. I cannot – will not break a covenant promise. And so having established the pure truth of who I am, the next question to be answered is…
Are your best interests – your successful future at the center of My heart? The answer is a resounding ‘YES’!
I will not make you trust Me in this. You have to choose. But the other choice is trusting the world. And where has that gotten you?
This is where – “But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.” Jeremiah 7:8
Throughout My Word, event after event document that I am trustworthy….always and completely.
You are everything to Me. Allow Me to take you places you never dreamed. When you do, know it will not be easy. But it will be so worth it – a ride you will never forget or regret.
Your turn … Examine your present and past relationships. Is there anyone in your life you completely trust? Why or Why not?
Are you using past and present experiences to determine how you measure your trust in Me? People are fallible. I am not!
Carefully examine and determine the trust levels you have with Me. To enjoy all the blessings I have just for you depends on you … on your trust in Me. You will never be able to completely follow My lead without total trust. Let Me help you.
Now, take the time and sincerely pray, “Sovereign LORD, You are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and You have promised these good things to Your servant…Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You…The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him…
But I trust in Your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in Your salvation…
But I trust in You, LORD; I say, “You are my God.” …
All Your words are true; all Your righteous laws are eternal.”
2 Samuel 7:28;
Psalm 9:10, 28:7, 13:5, 31:14, 119:160
“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:3-6
And I mean it!
Waiting patiently,
Abba
How to do this as a weekly bible study
Day One: Experience
Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app Scripture Typer.
Did you know Abba is the same as calling God, “Daddy.” It’s a term of affection that Christians “get to” use because we are His beloved children.
Day Two: Observe
Read & Chain. Look up & chain verses.
Day Three: Interpret
Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”
This is when you could start to journal in your Bible (optional).
Words to look up:
Sovereign, covenant, righteous, unfailing, submit
Here I show you how to do simple bible journaling of each of these verses:
Romans 15:13, Jeremiah 7:8, 2 Samuel 7:28; Psalm 9:10, 28:7, 13:5, 31:14, 119:160, Proverbs 3:3-6
Day Four: Application
Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.
Day Five: Testify
Who in your life, right now, can you share this with?
There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?
