“Then I heard the voice of the LORD saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send I!”… Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful… Pay attention and turn your ear to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach, for it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips… For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline…”
Isaiah 6:8; Joshua 1:8-9; Proverbs 22:17-18; 2 Timothy 1:7
Legendary opportunities abound in your life
Are you willing to step up and out?
What you are learning and experiencing is not for you alone.
We have already talked about not being afraid.
The enemy wants you to sit in the corner and be silent.
The enemy uses the world to tell you, “Be silent.” Don’t!
When opportunities come your way, step up and out for God’s kingdom, don’t miss them. Opportunities to grow and share your faith are all around you. Someone stepped up and out to share this with you. It’s your turn now.
Practice what you learn…every minute of every day for all your days and all your tomorrows.
Will you always be well received? NO!
But following Father God never squares with the world. You are not of the world…only in it.
Your turn…
Look at your reflection and ask this question, “What is keeping me from standing and saying ‘Send me’?
Call the excuse what it is – LIE!
Now, write a commitment to perform at least one act of kindness every day.
Start small and you will experience the wonder of doing God’s will and stepping out will become easier.
Boldly pray,
“LORD, You are my God; I will exalt You and praise Your Name, for in perfect faithfulness You have done wonderful things, things planned long ago…Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on His law day and night.”
Isaiah 25:1; Psalm 1:1-2
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says… Also, do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth… Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction… Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.”
James 1:22; 2 Timothy 2:15, 4:2; Hebrews 13:7
Father God always has your back. You can trust Him!
How to do this as a weekly Bible study
Day One: Experience
Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”
Day Two: Observe & Read
Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).
Day Three: Interpret
Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”
Day Four: Application
Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.
Day Five: Testify
Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?
