“In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ… He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins…If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Ephesians 1:7-10; Colossians 1:13-14; 1 John 1:9
Is there any sin too big for God to forgive?
No! There is anything you can do that God can’t forgive.
Forgiveness is what He does.
Forgiveness is key to a loving relationship and this is what the Lord truly desires with you.
You need only confess and repent…and only once – not over and over and over.
He receives your confession and wipes away the sin every time.
It does not return.
It is removed….forever!
Your turn …
What do you need to confess?
Do it now!
Now be at peace, knowing it is done.
If there are past sins you have confessed that still haunt you, that is the evil one reminding you. Be firm knowing my forgiveness is complete and forever.
Now, go somewhere quiet and humbly pray,
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to Your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight; so You are right in Your verdict and justified when You judge.
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Yet You desired faithfulness even in the womb; You taught me wisdom in that secret place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones You have crushed rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways so that sinners will turn back to You. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, You who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of Your righteousness. Open my lips, LORD, and my mouth will declare Your praise.”
Psalm 51:1-15
“Who is a God like You, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever but a delight to show mercy. And, You will again have compassion on us; You will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea…The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will He harbor his anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us…I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for My own sake and remembers your sins no more.”
Micah 7:18-19; Psalm 103:8-12; Isaiah 43:25
The Lord God treasures you.
How to do this as a weekly Bible study
Day One: Experience
Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”
Day Two: Observe & Read
Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).
Day Three: Interpret
Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”
Day Four: Application
Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.
Day Five: Testify
Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?
