Bible verses about wisdom and wise living

“So then, while we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith… Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity…

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction…We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work.”

Galatians 6:10; Colossians 4:5; 2 Timothy 4:1-2; John 9:4

Read and apply this instruction …

“A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.

The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers? The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” Luke 10:30-37

You are created to love God and love others.

Opportunities for both cover every day of your life.

Take heed and attend to each opportunity as it comes your way.

Your turn …

Take some time to review the last few days and every person who crossed your path.

There are no coincidences – ever!

How did you respond?

Were you the ‘priest’, ‘Levite’ or ‘Samaritan’?

Be honest with yourself – God already knows.

Come to God and confess and repent as necessary, then get on with being like the ‘Samaritan’ with every opportunity He sends your way.

Now, come and pray…

“How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to Your Word. I seek You with all my heart; do not let me stray from Your commands. I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You.”

Psalm 119:9-11

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil, making the most of your time because the days are evil.”

Ephesians 5:15-16

How to do this as a weekly Bible study

Day One: Experience
Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”

Day Two: Observe & Read
Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).

Day Three: Interpret
Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”

Day Four: Application
Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.

Day Five: Testify
Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?

Would you like to get more involved in the beLydia Movement?

Parents and friends, there are kids being sold for sex right now and they are still going to school and their parents have no idea.

They are being tricked, (often through social media and texting apps) into sharing compromising photos and then trapped into selling more or are tricked into having sex.

WE CAN PREVENT THIS THROUGH SHARING AWARENESS.
