I’m not going anywhere!
“It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed…Keep your life free from love of money and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8; Hebrews 13:5
People walk out on other people every day. Sadly, people make promises to stay and then don’t. People use one another like things and then toss them away like trash. This I hate. And because so many have hurt one another, many cannot believe there is anyone who will ever stay and finish. Well, I’m not anyone. I’m your Father- your God. And while you may leave Me, I will never leave you. I am always present to lead you, to guide you and to help you. No matter where you go or what you do, I’m not ever … ever going to leave you. I will always and forever be right here for you.
Your turn …
Who has left you? Who was not there when you needed them? Who has broken their promise of forever? Examine why you think I might leave – why I would not always be here for you.
Now my child, know I am God. I created you. I am your Father and I will never leave you. Call these thoughts what they are – lies. Confess this unbelief and call to Me. I’m right here waiting for you.
Now relax and pray …
“You have searched me, LORD, and You know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue You, LORD, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and You lay Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from Your Spirit?
I flee from Your presence
Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to You; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You. For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are Your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with You.”

How to do this as a weekly bible study
Day One: Experience
Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app Scripture Typer.
Day Two: Observe
Read & Chain. Look up & chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see video).
Day Three: Interpret
Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”
Day Four: Application
Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.
Day Five: Testify
Who in your life, right now, can you share this with?
