“Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments…The LORD is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance…God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord…
What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all!… Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.”
Deuteronomy 7:9; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Corinthians 1:9; Romans 3:3-4; Isaiah 54:10
Amazing truth about how God keeps His promises
Does God really keep His promises?
You can count on God to do exactly and completely what He promises.
Unlike humans, the Lord knows all the circumstances coming so they never alter what He has promised.
Also, His mind does not change – Ever!
Count on it!
Your turn …
Make a commitment today to start at the beginning to search out all of God’s promises for you in His Word.
Journal them and believe them.
Your life will blossom like never before.
You will live all your days and face all your tomorrows with a new found confidence – resting in His promises.
Now, pray…
“Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies… I will sing of the LORD’S great love forever; with my mouth, I will make Your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that Your love stands firm forever, that You have established Your faithfulness in heaven itself…The heavens praise Your wonders, LORD, Your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones…
For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD?
Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings? In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; He is more awesome than all who surround Him. Who is like You, LORD God Almighty? You, LORD, are mighty, and Your faithfulness surrounds You… Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; You established the earth, and it endures…Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Psalm 36:5, 89:1-2, 5-8, 119:89-90; Lamentations 3:22-23
“But the LORD is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one…I will not violate My covenant or alter what My lips have uttered.”
2 Thessalonians 3:3; Psalm 89:34
Your God always keeps His promises!
How to do this as a weekly Bible study
Day One: Experience
Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”
Day Two: Observe & Read
Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).
Day Three: Interpret
Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”
Day Four: Application
Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.
Day Five: Testify
Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?
