How to Live in triumph and not defeat

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in You… Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint…

Be strong, do not fear; your God will come,

He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution, He will come to save you. Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it.

No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, and those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away…Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the LORD’S coming is near”

Isaiah 26:3,40:28-31,35:4-6,8-10; James 5:7-8

How to Live in triumph and not defeat

You can’t – God can … enough said.

Your turn

What are the impossibilities in your life?

Give them to God now.

Wait and watch.

Your best interests are being perfectly tended to.

Now repeat the following until you have it memorized and believe it completely, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”  Romans 8:31

Finally, boldly come to the throne and with confidence pray

“Dominion and awe belong to God; He establishes order in the heights of heaven. The realm of the dead is naked before God; Destruction lies uncovered. He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; He suspends the earth over nothing. And, He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. He covers the face of the full moon, spreading His clouds over it.

He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness.

The pillars of the heavens quake, aghast at His rebuke. And these are but the outer fringe of His works; how faint the whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the thunder of His power?… Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge…One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to You, God, and with You, LORD, is unfailing love”; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.”

Job 25:1,26:6-11,14; Psalm 62:8,11-12

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful… And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus… Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today… I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.”

Colossians 3:15; Philippians 4:7; Exodus 14:13; Isaiah 42:16

Your God fights for you!

You can live in triumph!

How to do this as a weekly Bible study

Day One: Experience
Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”

Day Two: Observe & Read
Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).

Day Three: Interpret
Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”

Day Four: Application
Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.

Day Five: Testify
Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?
