Open Hearts Conference
One of the common threads in sex trafficking is that children are being “tricked.” I spoke a little bit about this in my last blog post, and I think it’s important to understand a couple of the reasons behind that.
Of course the biggest reason is that their brains are not fully developed until mid to late twenties. That is huge. There is no “risk assessment” capability so even the brightest person can make really poor choices when they don’t have the capacity to understand the danger involved.
Open Hearts
It’s also a heart issue and that is what beLydia is working on. When your heart is opened by the world, that looks completely different than when it’s opened by God.
When you look to the world for advice, encouragement, love (and we’ve all done this), your choices will reflect that.
So who is opening these kids hearts?
Who do they trust? Who is speaking words of love into them? If they’re unhappy at home, are they looking to the world to make them feel wanted?
Open Hearts Conference
On April 13th and 14th, we are hosting an Open Hearts Conference for Teen Girls. This conference is for high school and college girls and we are so honored to have Jordan Lee of Soul Scripts as the keynote speaker!
The gorgeous Mother-Daughter team, Teresa Ann of Lets Talk TV! with Teresa Ann and her daughter, Paris Keelea will emcee the conference!
This is not the typical conference where you show up for two days and then we say goodbye and that’s it.
The greatest desire for the millennial generation is to change the world but the greatest need is to be mentored.
Creating
We are creating a Discipleship Program where we have mentors for the girls that will commit to email or text them once a week to encourage them to stay in the Word for a YEAR. They will check in with them weekly and just be another friend to them, someone that they could turn to for prayer or feedback. One more person to pour God’s truth into them.
God put it on our hearts to have a conference not just for high school girls but also girls that are in college. The reason being, we have met so many girls that are over 18 years old that are still being tricked and deceived.
Cynthia Horton from Paso Del Norte Center of Hope in El Paso and Shift to Grow is teaching the girls True Colors which is a Personality Assessment Test. Our team has used this for team building. We absolutely LOVED how it has helped us get along with others. It also explains who we really are and it has made it easier for us to be ourselves and recognize our strengths and weaknesses.
Sue Bidstrup of Great Big Yes! will be teaching us chair holy yoga so we can reduce anxiety and stress.
We also have Lori Trenasty, M-HYI, CRTS, LSH Master Holy Yoga Instructor, Certified Raindrop Technique Specialist, Licensed Spiritual Healer, YL Essential Oils Educator Implementing Young Living essential oils to support heart, soul, mind and strength. Lori will be sharing her wisdom on rest and how that affects anxiety, both positively and negatively.

One of our favorite vendors, Cary Ann with BeWee is not only going to be a vendor, she is giving the girls a special gift that we know they will just LOVE.

Maddie Pellman of PaintItForward Prints will be there as well! Maddie designed our beautiful scripture cards!
-They will all get journaling bibles and highlighters and learn who they are in Christ.
-They will also do a few interactive and creative activities.
-We are also feeding the girls, dinner, breakfast, lunch and snacks!
This conference is FREE for the teen girls thanks to the incredibly generous donors and sponsors–God is SO GOOD!!
The cost to sponsor a teen girl is $100 or you can be a SWAG sponsor for $50, a “friend” for $20 or sponsor a table of 10 for $1,000.
