May Goals

May update: April and the first part of May have been an absolute blur. Last month I wrote that I needed to catch up on my life and that feeling has accelerated to the point of me just now remembering I even have a blog.

I don’t know how bloggers do it—it’s beyond me. How do they plan out their posts ahead of time and then follow through? I don’t seem to have that spiritual gift of organization and time management.

Here’s my update: I’m alive. I survived the past couple of months.

The spiritual warfare in my life and surrounding beLydia has been OFF THE CHARTS.

My husband had spinal surgery and they had to peel his nerve off of the bone and he ended up with a spinal fluid leak. The recovery was and is still incredibly painful. There were many days when I didn’t think I would be able to go to the retreat and I wondered if we would get through this. I could go on and on about the warfare—one thing after another. I’ve never been so stressed in my entire life (I did say that at our gala last November but that was a day at the park compared to this).

Why so much warfare?

We hosted our Open Hearts teen retreat which we now know is an incredibly important part of what we do. We had girls that were trafficked there, and we also had girls that haven’t been trafficked. (I would say “normal” girls but who is normal? They are all at-risk and we know several of them have experienced trauma).

We shared the Gospel, over and over and we know and expect to have spiritual warfare but wow.

When I welcomed everyone, I wondered who was in that room that Satan did not want to be led to the Lord? Well, of course, every girl there but I felt like there is someone that is going to go on to do magnificent things for the Kingdom to cause that much warfare.

Then last week we were the beneficiary of a Fashion Show hosted by Richard Parker which was fun! It was way bigger than I anticipated –with vendors and a silent auction. The models were high school girls—all adorable!

The next day we hosted our first Lunch & Learn with our beautiful friend, Elsa Ezell. Elsa lost her daughter to sex trafficking and shared her story with us. We had a Pop-Up Market with Young Living, Estilo, Lululemon, Noonday Collection and Scout & Cellar.

We relaunched our Home Awareness program and I’ll be sharing more about that here and ways for you to get involved.

Also, I am taking online classes at Liberty University in Christian Ministry. I can only laugh because the timing of writing papers could not have been worse. So many moments of me thinking I have truly lost my mind.

Guess what? I’m tired.

Back to back to back events is probably not the best idea for ol’ grandma here!

I’m exhausted—mentally, physically, spiritually.

So, May Goals…

For the rest of May, I need to catch up on my life and the admin side of beLydia. I also need to plan out my summer before it gets here.

That’s my recap on goals—-my health, my home, and everything else was pushed aside in a desperate attempt to get through the days. Now I’m trying to figure out how to get to a place where I can breathe and not worry about my To Do list.
